THE BABADOOK: “Thrill Rides” Firehouse Theater Movie Nights kicks-off on Wednesday, October 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Firehouse Arts Center Theater, 4444 Railroad Avenue in Pleasanton. General admission tickets are $10.00 at the door. THE BABADOOK (rated R, 94 minutes) is a top-notch psychological thriller from 2014. In this Australian-Canadian production and Sundance fave, a troubled widow and her 6 year old son come to feel tormented by a storybook character. Popcorn and snacks available at the lobby concessions, and can be taken inside the theater. No outside food or beverages are permitted. THE BABADOOK: Firehouse Kicks-Off “Thrill Rides” Movie Nights
Pleasanton, Calif. With the 5th Anniversary of the Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton, the theater programming team has decided to put together a little something for movie fans. The title for this year’s series is “Thrill Rides,” and includes some of the best Independent Film thrillers from the last few years.
Wednesday, October 21, 7:30 p.m. – Kicking off the series in October just in time for Halloween is THE BABADOOK (rated R, 94 minutes). A top-notch psychological thriller from 2014, this one is an Australian-Canadian production and Sundance fave. The plot follows a troubled widow (Essie Davis) who eventually finds that her 6 year old son might be telling the truth about a monster that entered their home through the pages of a children’s book. Main cast: Essie Davis, Noah Wiseman, Daniel Henshall.
Popcorn and snacks available at the lobby concessions, and can be taken inside the theater. No outside food or beverages are permitted. Trailers are up on the Firehouse website on the Film Series page: www.firehousearts.org/filmseries.
Theater is located at 4444 Railroad Avenue in Pleasanton. Free parking lot entrance is on Spring Street.

Tickets can also be purchased in advance online at www.firehousearts.org, by calling 925-931-4848, and in person at the Box Office, 4444 Railroad Avenue, Pleasanton. Box Office hours are Wednesday – Friday 12:00 noon-6:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., and two hours prior to performances.
Note: For R-Rated Films, under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian (age 21 or older) and 25 years and under must show ID.
