The Firehouse Arts Center is excited to feature the work of Miles Santos on the Nancy Thompson Memorial Wall from November to December 2025. Featuring approximately 12 of the artist’s representative cityscapes, this presentation will include small to medium-format works of acrylic on canvas. From urban landscapes of San Francisco to local Pleasanton scenes, Santos captures the everyday charm of the Bay Area in his unique style.
Miles Santos (b. 1997) is a Northern California-based artist, born and raised in Pleasanton. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from California State University, Fullerton, following his graduation from Amador Valley High School. Working across a variety of mediums-including acrylic, charcoal, graphite, ink, and digital media, Santos explores both representational and expressive forms. While he is widely recognized for his evocative California landscapes, his body of work also includes portraits, still life compositions, and cityscapes. At the heart of his practice is a dedication to capturing the quiet poetry of everyday life, as well as the dynamic beauty of the natural world.
Santos is especially drawn to nighttime cityscapes, where the vibrant light and energy of the urban environment take center stage. These works carry a strong emotional current-conveying a sense of home, comfort, intimacy, and nostalgia. In these scenes, the interplay of light and shadow creates a mood that is both calming and evocative, inviting viewers into a world that feels both familiar and deeply personal. The glow of city lights, the hum of nighttime stillness, and the subtle suggestion of human presence all contribute to an atmosphere that resonates with him on a personal level. For him, these moments speak not just to the rhythm of city life, but to the feeling of belonging within it. Santos currently serves as Art Circuit Co-Chair and a board member of the Pleasanton Art League. His work has been exhibited both locally and throughout California. Through his continued engagement with the regional art community, the artist remains committed to evolving his practice and deepening his connection with viewers and fellow artists alike.
