Art Exhibits

A joint exhibition between the City of Pleasanton’s Harrington Gallery and the UNCLE Credit Union Art Gallery at the Bankhead Theater, “Yesterday Once More, Scenes from the Past” is an exhibition that invites artists to step through the present and into the echoes of what once was. Through approximately 80 artworks of evocative imagery and bygone moments, this group exhibition explores the dialogue between nostalgia and personal history.

Three installation artworks by featured artist, Na Omi Shintani will also be on display in the exhibition. Shintani is a Japanese American artist whose work investigates culture, heritage, and history, emphasizing how past experiences influence the present and future. Her creations include installations, assemblages, sound and video projects, and augmented reality pieces centered on the Japanese American incarceration during World War II, a profound injustice impacting her family and others. She links this history and the erosion of culture and community to the struggles faced by Native Americans, refugees, and asylum seekers.
